Is Iran Winning the War of Nerves with the West?

The cover story in this week’s The Economist (Feb. 2-8, 2008) is on Iran: Iran “may have wriggled off the nuclear hook,” as the “Leader” on p. 13 puts it, but the U.S.  may be able to put them back on the hook through engagement and by calling Iran’s bluff (article).     (See also)   See also the lead editorial in today’s (Feb. 7) New York Times on how Iran’s hardliners may be worried about how they are going to do in the upcoming elections: they shut down a popular mainstream magazine - “Zanan” (”Woman”).
