[ADDED May 29, 2008] - Max Rodenbeck:  ”…it is a pitfall of books such as these, which draw mostly on current events, that trends have a way of shifting course, or actually reversing. Even by the end of Wright’s ‘tour d’horizon’, the light is clearly fading. If 2005 and 2006 were years of hope, the intervening period has been one of almost unremitting gloomfor the region’s would-be reformers.”
