Leslie Gelb reviews a new book about Ahmad Chalabi in today’s New York Times Book Review. Gelb captures the essence of Chalabi’s character and ambition well when he says, “…this improbable, chunky, merry-eyed dynamo tirelessly connived and schemed on behalf of two dreams: for American military might to drive Saddam Hussein from power and to install himself in the dictator’s place.”
